Psychodynamic therapy focused on patterns, emotional experience, and what lies beneath — not quick fixes, but genuine understanding over time.
"Understanding the patterns we repeat is often where real change begins."Dhara Vora · Psychotherapist, working under supervision
I am a psychotherapist working under professional supervision, with a background in psychodynamic approaches. My training is shaped by the Tavistock model — a way of attending carefully to how our past experiences influence the way we think, feel, and relate today.
I am in the early stages of building my practice, where the focus is on creating a consistent, confidential, and contained space for clients to begin their therapeutic work.
My approach is not about quick solutions. It is about developing a deeper understanding of emotional experience, relational patterns, and the ways we sometimes repeat certain dynamics — often without realising it.
"I am interested in what lies beneath — the patterns that shape us, often quietly, over time."
Therapy with me is a slow, thoughtful process. I pay attention not only to what you bring to sessions, but to how you bring it — and to what begins to emerge between us in the therapeutic space itself.
We often repeat ways of relating without fully realising it. Together, we begin to notice these patterns — in relationships, in thoughts, and in the room.
The Tavistock model attends to how early experiences continue to shape who we are. Understanding this connection is central to our work.
Consistency and containment matter deeply. Sessions are confidential, boundaried, and held with care — a steady space to return to each week.
Available in the Juhu and Bandra areas of Mumbai. Meeting in person allows for a fuller presence and supports the development of a consistent therapeutic relationship.
For those outside Mumbai, or who prefer the flexibility of online working. Sessions are held via a secure video platform with the same attention and care.
Regular, weekly sessions form the basis of my practice. Continuity is important — it allows the work to deepen and patterns to emerge more fully over time.
We begin with a consultation to understand what brings you to therapy and see whether working together feels like the right fit. No obligation.
Psychoanalytic writing for people who want to understand themselves more clearly — accessible, grounded, and genuinely useful.
You snap, you spiral, you shut down — then wonder why. A psychoanalytic explanation of emotional overreaction that actually makes sense. Attachment history, the alarm brain, and what it all means.
I work primarily with adults seeking to understand themselves more deeply over time. This kind of therapy suits those who are open to reflection and can commit to regular sessions. My practice is small and intentionally so — allowing for depth and continuity. If you are unsure, an initial consultation is the best place to begin.
Completing this form helps me understand a little about what brings you to therapy and what you're looking for. It takes around 5–10 minutes and is entirely confidential.
Everything you share is held in confidence. Your responses will only be seen by Dhara Vora and used solely to prepare for an initial consultation.
After submitting, Dhara will be in touch within a few days to arrange an initial consultation at a time that suits you.
Completing this form does not commit you to anything. The initial consultation is a chance to see whether working together feels like the right fit.
